CONCLUSION

A Micro Gap Wire Chamber with 10  µ m diameter wires has been constructed using simple processes. This chamber has been operated in stable conditions at high gains ( ~105 ). The observed signals had a rise-time 2  ns and can be limited to less than 40 ns, allowing a fast rate electron counting.

Since microelectronic technics are not necessary for the MGWC's construction as for the MSGC's and the MGC's construction, large MGWC's ( 20 x 20  cm 2 ) construction is possible.
